Current Fundraising Projects
We are currently fundraising towards five major projects at Cleaswell Hill School:
Our children currently travel a considerable distance to access a hydrotherapy pool. In order to eliminate the additional costs for transport and reduce the impact of the travel time on their education, we have fundraised over the past three years to build our own hydrotherapy pool.
Although the building work is scheduled to be completed during the summer, we still require assistance to fund the specialised equipment for use within the pool such as hoists, slings and sensory apparatus.
Cleaswell Hill School are currently appealing for funding towards outdoor play and learning resources which will enhance the children’s opportunities to develop their social and motor skills during lessons, break times, lunch times and after school.
Sensory rooms combine a range of stimuli to enable users to develop and engage their senses whilst interacting with the world around them in a safe environment.
A specialised sensory room tailored to the children at our school will enhance their learning experience, promoting emotional wellbeing and facilitating opportunities for self regulation.
The children at Cleaswell Hill School are passionate about the theatre arts. We require support to provide inclusive resources and experiences for our children to engage with the theatre arts such as:
– The purchase of a ‘sound beam’, an award winning ‘touch free’ device which uses sensor technology to translate body movement into music and sound, allowing all of our children the opportunity to play music, regardless of their disability
– Small group and 1:1 sessions with a music specialist, enhancing creativity, benefitting wellbeing and encouraging the regulation of emotions
– Resources to facilitate musical productions at our school to promote confidence and self-esteem
Outdoor learning and educational visits are integral to teaching and learning at Cleaswell Hill School.
Without a wheelchair accessible minibus our children are unable to access hydrotherapy pool sessions, local sensory provision, work experience, educational visits, Duke of Edinburgh, opportunities to engage with other schools and much more.
We require funding to purchase a minibus to enable all of our children to access essential experiences within the local community.
