Covid 19 update 05/01/2021
Tuesday 5th January
Last night’s statement from the prime minister
Unfortunately the statement lacked clarity on where special schools stand during the new lock down, pretty similar to the situation in March 20. This was then interpreted by some journalists as special schools staying fully open. Obviously in our case having 320 pupils and staff in fairly close proximity is a massive risk in the current climate.
We are open today, however, it is highly likely that from tomorrow, Wednesday 6th January, we will only be open for children whose parents are Key Workers and those who are classed as vulnerable due to social services involvement (for safeguarding reasons).
We will post on Facebook and our website confirming this and what further action you need to take if you qualify as a Key Worker.
Sorry about the delay in this post but information from the Department of Education was only received in the middle of the night.
