Following the success of our Music Workshop Day last year, we are delighted to announce that the event is returning for 2026!
Taking place on Saturday the 28th of March and this time to be held at Ponteland High School, our workshop is ideal for pupils who enjoy playing or singing, giving them a chance to build ensemble skills, musicianship and performance confidence.

About the day
  • A full programme of specialist sectional rehearsals (10:30am – 4:00pm)
  • Sessions led by experienced tutors across instrumental and vocal disciplines
  • Opportunities to rehearse and perform alongside other young musicians from across the county
  • Suitable for a wide range of abilities
Sectional workshops available on the day include:
  • Beginner Orchestra with Mrs Hedley and Mr Robinson
  • Intermediate Orchestra with Mrs Chinery and Mr Francis
  • Advanced Orchestra with Mrs Stephenson and Miss Hetherington
  • Guitar Ensemble with Mr Robertson
  • Percussion Ensemble with Mr Doyle
  • Choir with Ms Hewison & Mr Burns
These sessions are based on our Northumberland County ensembles, offering pupils valuable insight into pathway ensembles and future progression opportunities.

  • Concert for parents: 3:00pm arrival with a 3:15pm start
  • End time: 4:00pm
  • Location: Ponteland High School
  • Ages: 7 – 18 (sessions grouped by age and experience)
  • Cost: £15.00 per child
    • £12.50 for Northumberland Music ensemble members
    • Subsidised places are available for those who need them
