A module for practitioners who work directly with autistic children in settings. It provides guidance on processes and tools that can help practitioners to implement good autism practice.
What will this module cover?
- Develop knowledge and understanding of good autism practice.
- Reflect on and improve practice in working with autistic pupils.
- Understand strategies and approaches that can be used for autistic pupils.
- Reflect on the kind of information that is needed to collect for the one-page profile and for the pupil-centred education plan.
- Consider how to involve the autistic pupil and their family in the pupil’s education.
- Enhance and embed inclusive practice for autistic pupils.
Who is this module for?
This module is for practitioners who work with autistic pupils up to 25 years old and attend an educational provision.
- Early Years Professionals, e.g. Child Minders, Nursery Staff, Class Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
- School Education Professionals, e.g. Teachers, Higher Level Teaching Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Intervention Assistants.
- Post-16 Providers, e.g. College Teachers and Assistants, Apprenticeships Employers and Mentors.
